April Reign, LPC
I believe people are inherently resilient—and therapy can help you reconnect with that inner strength. As a Black woman therapist, I offer an affirming space for women and couples who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or weighed down by self-doubt, depression, and relationship stress. I’m especially passionate about supporting the Black/African American experience, identity development, and self-esteem—because feeling unseen, over-responsible, or “always having to be strong” can take a real toll.
My approach is rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which means we’ll explore how early experiences and relationships shape current patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating. I also integrate practical, evidence-based tools from ACT, CBT, and DBT so our work doesn’t stay theoretical—it becomes something you can use in real life. Together, we’ll identify the cycles that keep repeating (people-pleasing, overfunctioning, self-criticism, emotional shutdown, or stuck relationship dynamics), understand where they came from, and build new ways of coping, connecting, and showing up with confidence.
My style is warm, direct, and gently challenging. You don’t have to perform, minimize, or figure it out alone. If you’re ready to feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned with who you are, I’d be honored to support you.
